The theme for this year’s
‘It’s a Still Life’
Still Life Photography Workshop
After a long hard winter, summer is certainly something to celebrate!
What better way than to capture it in all it’s glory!!
Has a photograph ever stirred your soul? Has a scene ever begged to be etched into memory? Have you ever reflected on the role art plays in your everyday life? Still life photography is about more than fruits, flowers, and styling; today, still life photography is mindfulness, playfulness and, yes, stillness.
It is a medium that encourages the creative process, that leads artists to a place of emotional healing and growth.
Our day will begin at The Art Loft in Rockland, Maine with coffee and conversation, a discussion on seeing the artist within, pushing past our inner critic, discovering a sense of possibility.
Then we dive in: soft and dreamy, dark and moody, backlight, sidelight, we explore it all with a selection of local fruits and flowers. For lunch, we head out for a picnic in the garden at Merryspring Nature Center in Camden. An afternoon of lifestyle photography at the park is sure to be fabulous!
As golden hour approaches, we gather in the garden at Karen’s home in Hope for wine and cheese crafted by local artisans.
The following morning, we will meet again at The Art Loft for editing and individual instruction.
The workshop runs on Saturday, June 24th from 9:00 – 5:00 and on Sunday, June 25th, from 10-12
Attendance on Sunday is optional.
I am so excited to have you come and visit!
See you soon!!
